Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ's

Are your classes virtual or in person?

All of our classes are now only taught in person.  We tried Zoom classes and virtual but we found the success rate of our students was much higher with in person training.  Also, there is more interaction with the instructors and students as well as the other peers in the class.  In person makes for a much better learning environment.

What if I cannot make all the classes?

You will need to attend all 40 hours required by the state.  If there is an emergency and you miss a class, it will need to be made up at the next session offered.

My schedule with work and family does not allow me to attend in person classes.  What are my alternatives?

We understand online classes are more convenient and while we do not offer them at our school some other schools may.  Keep in mind, we have had many students take our class after taking an online version because they did not feel prepared for the test.  Our schedule is designed to complete the class in only 2 weeks.  Hopefully, if you are looking to change careers and commit to becoming the best agent you can be, there is a way to attend the 2 weeks of classes even if it is not convenient.

Are your classes taught by instructors or real estate brokers?

Only of the things that makes our school amazing is that our instructors are licensed real estate brokers that have been in the industry for over 10 years.  They apply real life scenarios to the vocabulary and concepts to help you understand them better and remember them for the exam.    You will learn some of the funny or crazy experiences our instructors/brokers have encountered and why it is relevant to the material you are learning.

Once the class is complete how do I sign up for the test?

We will give you the test application with all the contact info for the testing facility on the final day of class

Do I need to bring anything to class?

Some people like to bring a laptop, iPad or notebook.  But we will provide you with the course book on the first night.  So, just bring a pen and get ready to have some fun!  You are welcome to bring drinks and snacks if you would like as well.

Your class is held during dinner time and I can't make it home between work and class, can I eat during class?

Absolutely!  We have a very relaxed atmosphere.  In fact, one of our instructors will probably be munching on gummy bears during class... don't tell him we told you his weakness! :)

We even have a kitchen at the office with a refrigerator, toaster oven and microwave if you would like to use any of them during the class.

Once I complete my test, can you help me get hired by a brokerage?

Yes!  We have relationships with a lot of the local brokerages and can help you get a job once you are licensed.

If I don't pass the exam on my first try are there any resources you offer?

We have additional practice questions to study available.  We also allow our students to sit in on any future class as long as there is space available at no extra charge.  So, if you want to refresh just one chapter or the whole class, you are welcome to join us again within your 2 year window.

Do you offer any other classes to get started?

We offer new agent training and marketing classes as well as the license class.  Most of our license class students look forward to the marketing class.  Our instructors give you a taste of how you get started and what you can do for inexpensive marketing ideas during the license class but if you want more you can sign up for our other workshops.

Do I need to have any experience to get started in real estate?

No, taking the salesperson license class is the first step to an amazing new career!  From there, you need to pass the exam before you are allowed to practice real estate in Massachusetts.  Once you pass your exam, like all newly licensed agents you will learn as you go.  New Agent Training is important as well as choosing the right brokerage to join.  Some offer mentors and support for new agents.  We will guide you during the class to know what to ask and look for in your first brokerage.

What is the difference between a Real Estate Salesperson and a Broker?

A real estate broker is someone who has been in the industry for over 3 years, has taken the broker class and passed the broker exam.  This allows them to open their own company if they want to.   All agents start as salespersons not brokers.

What is the difference between a Real Estate Agent/Salesperson and a Realtor?

A Realtor is someone who has joined the Realtor association.  That association has many benefits and might be worth joining.  We will discuss that during class too.  Many agents are also Realtors but it is not required by the state to practice real estate.
